TheChardham Yatra of Uttarakhand takes you to the four holy shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The first chardham (going from left to right, as is traditionally stipulated), Yamunotriis one of the most revered temples in India, which is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. It is the source of the sacred river Yamuna that originates from the glacial lake of Saptarishi Kund, at an altitude of 4,421 meters. The second dham Gangotri is located on the banks of River Bhagirathi and is dedicated to Goddess Ganga.According to Hindu legends, the most sacred of all rivers, Ganges (or Ganga), descended from heaven to earth at Gangotri, when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from his locks. The third dham of Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the temple is believed to have been built by the Pandavas, protagonists of the Mahabharata, as a tribute to Lord Shiva having forgiven them for fratricide after an exciting chase through the Himalayas. The fourth and the last dham Badrinathis believed to be as old as time itself. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this temple was re-established by Adi Shankracharya in the 8th century as part of his mission to revitalize Hinduism

Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVE DEHRADUN AIRPORT - RISHIKESH (DRIVE: 20 KM/40 MIN.DRIVE) ALT: 0310 M

Arrive at Dehradun airport. Pick-up and drive to Rishikesh. Arrive at the hotel and check in. In the evening, if time permits, visit Triveni Ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti. Overnight is at the hotel in Rishikesh.

Day 02 : Do dham same day visit by Helicopter

This morning transfer to DED Helipad for flying. (As per the reporting time from Heli company). Departure from DED Helipad and fly towards Kedarnath Base Helipad i.e., Sersei, Phata or Guptkashi. After reaching Kedarnath’ s base helipad, you’ll have to change helicopter and switch to shuttle helicopter for Kedarnath as per the norms. (You’ve may have to wait for some time at base helipad because of shuttle slots, weather or technical reasons.) After arriving at Kedarnath, you’ll be guided to Kedarnath Temple for Priority Darshan. After Darshan, fly back to Kedar Base Helipad in the shuttle Heli and switch back to your previous Helicopter. Further, fly towards Badrinath. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to temple Parking and will be escorted for Priority Darshan. After paying Holy visit at Badrinath Temple return back to Helipad and fly back to Dehradun. Upon arrival at DED Helipad, our vehicle will pick you up and drive to the hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at Dehradun.

Day 03 : Dehradun - Barkot (130 Kms /05 H)

This morning after breakfast, drive to Barkot. Enroute you can visit Lakhamandal Temple and further drive to Barkot. Dinner & Overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 04 : Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (45 Kms drive / 06 Kms Trek – Per way)

This morning after breakfast drive towards Yamunotri. Our vehicle will drop you at Janki Chatti Parking. Janki Chatti - Yamunotri Trek Distance : 05-06 Kms Per way. Options :- By Walk / Hiring a Pony / Palki - on direct payment basis. After paying holy visit at Yamunotri, descend down to Janki Chatti Parking. Drive back to Barkot for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 05 : Barkot - Uttarkashi (85 Kms / 03-3.5 hrs approx.)

This morning after a relaxed breakfast, start your drive towards Uttarkashi. You can visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple located at Uttarkashi. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival. Dinner & Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 06 : Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (95 Kms / 03 hrs approx. per way)

This morning after breakfast, drive to Gangotri. Pay a holy visit at Gangotri Temple located on the banks of Rive Bhagirathi Further, drive back to Uttarkashi. Enroute visit the beautiful Harsil Valley. Dinner & Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 07 : Uttarkashi – Dehradun (135 Kms / 05 hrs approx.)

This morning after a relaxed breakfast, start your drive to Dehradun. Check-in at the hotel & relax. Dinner & overnight stay at Dehradun.

Day 08 : Departure

After breakfast, drive to Airport. Check-in at the airport for departure. Holy Tour concludes here !

Terms & Conditions

● In case of non-availability at above-mentioned hotels, we will provide the suitable alternative.

● For processing the bookings, we would require 10% payment in advance, 35% on confirmations and balance 35 days before the arrival date. Helicopter payment will have to be paid advance at the time of helicopter booking which generally opens 1-2 months prior the travel date

● Helicopter rides are subject to weather conditions. In case helicopter does not operate we will refund you 100% for the ticket price without service charge(you will have to get stamp on ticket there)

● Any cancellation after processing the reservation will be subject to cancellation charges as per the company policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

The temples of Gangotri and Badrinath are accessible by road (national highways). You just have to walk a few meters from the parking to reach the main temples. For Yamunotri and Kedarnath, you have to trek for 6 km and 14 km respectively, from the parking lot.

Every year, the Chardham Yatra begins in the month of April or May and lasts till October or November.
